Jordana Woodland & Living the Boudoir Life

Jordana Woodland moved from the Philippines to the United States at age 10 with big aspirations. After a modeling and acting career, Jordana decided to pursue entrepreneurship as her second act.  In 2009, she founded Naked Princess, a luxury lingerie and beauty brand that emphasizes comfort, style, and (most notably) sensuality.

The 35-year old CEO and creative director expanded her vision to a Los Angeles-based retail space that also acts as an elegant private events venue with a lounge, sanctuary garden, and patio.  From birthdays to bridal showers to blogger brunches, guests get the VIP treatment.

Jordana-Woodland-Naked-PrincessThere’s something extra special about this entrepreneurial princess… While other creative directors work behind the scenes, Jordana isn’t afraid to model her own garments. It’s a testament to her confidence and an inspiration to women of all ages.

Jordana took time to answer some questions for SheSpark readers.

SS: As an over-30 lingerie model, what type of feedback do you get from men and women?

JW: For the most part it’s really positive and supportive! There are always going to be people who are going to judge and have something to say, I just try to not let it get to me and remain confident.  It doesn’t matter what age you are or what stage you are at in your life, if you want to do something don’t let societal convention hold you back! I’m proud of the way I feel and look after having three children. I feel sexier now than ever before!

SS: Many women don’t feel comfortable embracing sensual undergarments.  What’s holding us back?

JW: I think there’s a level of intimidation about wearing lingerie because it’s been held in this category of “only for special occasions” or “only for my lover.” I think it’s time to throw those outdated limitations out the window. Lingerie is for every day! Wearing a beautiful bra and panty set underneath your clothes makes you feel feminine and confident on a daily basis. It’s something that you can wear for you and no one else. When you take the restrictions away it opens you up to a whole new way of experiencing lingerie.

SS: What are the benefits of investing in your intimate apparel?

JW: It can play a huge part in how you carry yourself throughout the day. There’s something so beautiful about investing in garments that only you and someone that you choose will ever see. It’s a daily gift that you give yourself. A gift of femininity, sensuality, and confidence. Lingerie is your daily foundation so it should be something of quality; something that you love; something that puts that extra swish in your step.

SS: Your flagship store is in L.A., but your apparel also appears in luxury hotel boutiques and spas worldwide.  Do you think women are more open to adventure in lingerie and loungewear when on vacation? 

JW: We’re all more adventurous on vacation! When we’re away from all of our responsibilities and actually take the time to relax, our inhibitions melt away. Once that happens, we’re more open to trying new things and treating ourselves. I’ve bought some of my all-time favorite pieces while on vacation! It’s such an honor to hear from women that have purchased our pieces while traveling that they have found their “new favorite dress” or that they now need their new bra “in every color” because they “feel amazing in it.” That’s why we do what we do.
